With £9.8m from Highlands and Islands Enterprise, £1m from the North Uist Council and £2.5m from the UK Space Agency – all tax payers’ money – we ask whether this is sensible expenditure. And St Kilda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be in line of fire with air and noise pollution with inevitable reduction in a thriving ecotourism industry.
